how do you refinish or polish an antique mantle clock?

it is very old more than a hundered years

Do not attempt to change the finish on the clock. You will ruin the patina (natural aged finish). thus deminishing its value. The best bet is to take it to a reputable clock shop to see if they can help.

The only thing I would use on it would be Guardsman Furniture Polish…it has NO oils in it..cannot cause build-up…VERY good for wood furniture. I would NOT, however, try to refinish it…take it to a professional for that…
(I know that Guardsman can now be found at Lowe’s Home Improvement)…

Try using Old English furniture scratch cover. About 6 bucks a bottle does wonders for wood.
