How did cuckoo clocks get to America?

Stupid question, i know. But its a project for world geography and we need to know how it came to America and when (estimate) i’ve looked everywhere.

    The Swedes and the Germans brought them to America. Look for the founding of Dutch America, around 1840.

    Kyle they came with the immigration of the German and Polish people and it was a slow process. I don’t know that there is a date because back then clocks were rare and these things came in bits and pieces then grew outward into North American society. I don’t know that there is a date to the advent of "Cuckooo Clocks"!
    I do know that they came about in Europe in the mid seventeenth century but for more information I would advise a search from Wikipedia.
