Friday, March 26th, 2010I am restoring two vintage Seth Thomas mantle clocks (a split column and an ogee) with reverse painted door panels. I want to touch up the damaged paint on the door panels without it looking like a patch job. If I can find the same type of paint used, I can get the affect I am after. Any suggestions would be helpfull as I can not afford a museum restorationist.

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010Does anyone know where I can find out info on Wentworth branded mantle clocks. I have been given one for Xmas and need to add it to my contents insurance and need to know a value.
Try looking on Ebay to see if there’s anything comparable to what you live listed there. It will give you some idea as to what they’re selling for. I hope that helps.

the easiest way to find out is to open the clock and look at what’s in it. If there is no battery in it, look in the battery compartment to see if there is a marking.
If the clock you’re talking about is either of the following (see links) my bet is that it’s just a AA battery.
