There may be an article on www.ehow.com, but if not, it may be worthwhile to tale it to a clock shop for repair, especially if it’s old

It is a Seth Thomas "Plymouth" mantel clock. I can’t find a serial number, but it is an 8-day clock and the paperwork in the clock says that it is for a 4300, 4500, or 4600 series clock. It chimes a single chime on the half and the time on the hour? I know that it belonged to my great great grandmother, so I’m thinking late 1800’s. Any ideas?
Hi! Have you searched online yet? There is an amazing
amount of information on these clocks. With just a cursory
scan… and without seeing a photo, as there are a number of
"Plymouth" models that could satisfy your description, it
appears that it’s from the 1930’s-40’s era and it’s claimed
Seth Thomas clocks are dated somewhere on each piece
in reverse.

Good luck.. and I hope this helps!
Someone has given me a Seth Thomas 8-day clock and I’m wondering it’s value. It’s a mantel clock, he said it’s in between 1920-1930. Inside the back panel it gives instructions to operate and has the following: Quarter Hour Strike Movement No. 89-L
It’s beautiful and I love the chime sounds!
My grandmother had one just like you described.
The value was around $50 – $75. Not much, but everyone in the family wanted it when settling her estate.
The real value is what YOU place on it, and since you obviously love it, a monetary figure is meaningless.
Enjoy your clock for many years.
