While the cuckoo calls, the little German boy sneaks a kiss underneath the window – out of sight. A zither player comes out to play a tune.

The clock comes packaged in genuine recylced or renewable materials, each clock made and packaged BY HAND by Black Forest craftsmen the same way they have been for hundreds of years. The cuckoo bird, hands, numbers, and dancers are all made of solid wood.
The bird moves along with the mechanically produced music and cuckoo call. The sound of the bird is produced by real wooden whistles and the music box movement is hand made in Switzerland. After the cuckoo calls, the zither player comes out and plays a tune.

My father recently bought my mother a cuckoo clock at an antique store. The clock worked at the store however now that it is at home it doesnt. The weights on the clock wont move and the cuckoo birds do not come out and cuckoo. How can we fix this problem? BTW the cuckoo whistles work as well as the bellows just not the birds and the weights.
Sometimes there is a switch on the back to turn the cuckoo on and off. Otherwise mabye you should talk to the man at the antique store.
He plays it live sometimes and it is a slower tune. I’m not talking about the Album "Cuckoo Clocks from Hell". I mean the actual song by the same name. It is also not the song "the Cuckoo Parade". Help!!

On our recent trip to Germany, we spent several days in the Black Forest. Of course, I had to get a cuckoo clock. I had it shipped, and it arrived on Friday. This way, I can stop the pendulum and make “Time Stand Still!”

Can anyone tell me some helpful tips for buying a quality cuckoo clock from the black forest, like how to tell if it is good quality. Im trying to purchase one online for arounf 200 hundred dollars plus shipping.
i bought one (in germany) for around $400 in 1992. it is about 12 inches high, 8 inches across and about 6-8 inches deep. it should be completely made of wood except for the metal weights and gears. usually have fancy carvings on the face (mine has a hunting motiff complete with a dear head! the antlers are awesome!). not all clocks have cuckoos, though, so make sure it has the cuckoo and not just a bird or, more commonly a scene with barmaids and the like, that spins ariound in a circle. (if it has the cuckoo with the cuckoo SOUND it will have three weights, not just two.) they should all say either made in germany, or made in bavaria (the southern state in germany where the black forest is located)

This is a very specialist item which you are looking for, and to have a shop on an airport location is very costly. Therefore, small & specalist vendors tend not to locate themselves at airports as it would not be financially worthwhile

It does not look like there is anything that would fit your requirements, but you could try calling one of them (e.g. in the Watches section) and asking them, that if they do not sell, do they know if there is such a shop on the location.
