I have an anniversary clock that my father gave me about 25 years ago. The balls do not spin anymore. Help!?
Wednesday, April 14th, 2010The clock is a Benchmark clock, with a wooden roof and is 6 or 8 sided with white designs on the glass. My paster tried to fix it, but said that he had never seen anything like it. It doen’t have a place for a battery to power the balls. The clock keeps good time, but without the spinning it is not as pretty. My dad is in the last stages of Alzheimer’s and I would like to get the clock fixed to remember the better days when he loved me and knew who I was.

He is 22 years old and is a custom car/truck enthusiast.
I really need some ideas. Our anniversary is next month. So far we do not have a budget on how much we are spending on each other.

How about the gift of your time doing something he likes to do? I would see if there is any sort of custom car/truck show coming up and get tickets to that and spend the day showing him how much you love him by sharing his interests with him. I would also get him a more personal gift that means something to the two of you that he will have to remember your first anniversary by…something that will last, especially if he is a sentimental or nostalgic type of guy. You could take the ‘paper’ theme and make a small scrapbook of your first year together or something like that.

Monday, March 29th, 2010I am thinking one of those gold dipped roses with a personalized vase, and/or tickets to the King Tut exhibit (she’s into Egypt, King Tut, all that stuff). I was going to make the King Tut thing a surprise, but I gave her one small hint and she actually guessed the exhibit, so she knows I want to take her, won’t be much of a surprise I guess.
Any other good ideas though? We’re not married, so I’m not sticking with paper or clocks.
No gold dipped rose. Maybe King Tut. If you have the means, get a silver necklace of her name in hieroglyphics or a silver ankh.

This clock is an eight-day cuckoo with music. The clock has wooden hands, bird, and a wooden dial. It has several incredible wood carvings with exquisite detail. The Squirrels dance as the music plays.
The clock comes packaged in genuine recylced or renewable materials, each clock made and packaged BY HAND by Black Forest craftsmen the same way they have been for hundreds of years. The cuckoo bird, hands, numbers, and dancers are all made of solid wood.
