Hi, what is a good gift for the 1st Wedding Anniversary? (other than paper/clocks?)?

For each other or for another couple?

For your hubbie – Think like it was Christmas. Does he like DVD’s, Music, Dogs, racing, Mexican wrestling. Just think of what he likes. It doesn’t have to be practical, but something slightly romantic might help (Not with mine, I know what to get him…DVDs, as always.) Or maybe you could get each other the same gift – such as a night out that you usually couldn’t afford. Go to a nice resturant (for me – I simply demand that I be seated before they take my order!!!) and a show. Go see a comedy show or even just a movie or anything else you might be into.

For another couple? – Anything for the home, since they are probably still settling in to a new home. Maybe a nice framed picture of them together if you have one that they don’t have (good snapshots are sometimes the best.) Gift certificates to resturants so they can spend an evening out together. Maybe throw in some more gift certificates for the local theater so they can make it a night.

Movie tickets (paper) and a gift certificate for a nice restaurant. Many newlyweds are low on cash during the first year of marriage so a night out is always a welcome gift.

I like the paper idea, it really makes you think of things. I would tell what I’m getting my husband for our first anniversary, But he’ll read this so I can’t you.

My husband got me a "Lover’s Coupon Book" (paper!) that has coupons you can use all year like "Good for one free 10 minute foot massage" and "One night out to my favorite restaurant". They are so cool…..you can get them at any bookstore for about $6.00 and it lasts for a while. Make your own (paper) anniversary card for him. Any kind of paper gift certificates to go out for dinner (although most are plastic cards these days)….you can make your own paper certificate to put in the homemade card and use the plastic card at the restaurant. Or someone else here suggested "Paper" movie tickets. Congratulations on your first year of marriage! Hope this helps!

Tickets to a sporting event or out to the theater or a gift certificate to the restuarant where you had your first date.
